Projects
There are many semi-autonomous projects that make up the BCC. Most have their own webpages, social media and contacts, but if you want to learn more about any and can’t connect with them directly, email info@bcctucson.org. We also host weekly pot-lucks, reading groups, shows, and other rotating events put on by a variety of projects, some of which are listed below.
THE BCC LIBRARY
A no-fines community run library with hundreds of titles across a broad range of subjects, focused on rad history and activism, organizing, DIY cultures, and much more. The library is open to the public Saturdays from 12-4pm. During that time you are welcome to explore our collection, read books from the collection, check out books, co-work, or simply hang out in the space. Read more on the library here. See our catalog here. To help the library make the shift to the new space and remain up and running, please donate $5-$10 monthly subscription or a one-time donation.

THE ARCHIVES COMMUNE
The Archives Commune is collective of autonomous historical preservation, documentary, and archival projects. While dispersed in subject focus, the Commune is broadly rooted in anticapitalist, working class, anti-imperialist, and abolitionist worldviews, and aims to cultivate spaces of liberatory social struggle inspired by an array of revolutionary memory and practice. Members include the Inside Books Project Archive, Perilous Chronicle, the Jewish Zine Archive, Tucson Solidarity with Palestine Protests, Defend the Atlanta Forest Archive, as well as independent activists and scholars. Our projects span digital and physical spaces, geographically dispersed with in-person hubs at the Historic Y (Suite 214, 738 N 5th Ave) and the BCC ( 657 W St Marys Rd) in Tucson, AZ. Learn more, join, or donate at our website.
JEWISH ZINE ARCHIVE

An ongoing archival project for zines created by Jewish artists & writers, The Jewish Zine Archive began in 2019 and is a physical & digital archive for zines made by writers & artists who identify as or with Jewishness and/or Judaism. Find us on Instagram @jewishzinearchive, our website, or our shop.
DMDM (DISTRIBUTED MEDICAL DEVICE MANUFACTURING)
We formed DMDM in 2023 as an offshoot of MADR in order to begin exploring how regulatory compliant aid supplies can be manufactured outside the existing profit driven, hierarchical medical device manufacturing industry. Our mission is to make high quality, FDA compliant CAT style tourniquets based on the GLIA design to ensure our communities have access to life saving supplies in the event of trauma events and supply chain breakdowns.

TUCSON MESH

Tucson Mesh is a community-controlled wireless internet network that offers sliding-scale and low-cost internet access. The network is designed, spread, and maintained by a collective of its users and volunteers. The ‘supernode’, or primary internet exchange point provides internet to community members through rooftop antennas. To find out more, visit their website linked above or follow them on Instagram @tucsonmesh.
OLD PROJECTS
COMMUNITY GARDEN
The BCC used to be home to a small garden and green space, whose aim was to beautify, connect, and sustain our community. Currently this project is paused, as in the new location we do not have adequate space for our community garden. In the future, we hope to be able to return to this project.
